Shelley Parker-Bansal is one of only a handful of Certified Equine Dentists in New Zealand. She Certified from The College of Equine Dentistry Australia and she has been treating horses since January 2006.  

Shelley specialises in performance horse equine dentistry, using the latest techniques to get the maximum results for all types of sport and race horses. She regularly treats some of the top dressage, eventing and racing horses in NZ and overseas. 

Performance dentistry focuses on maximum occlusion, comfort of the tempero-mandibular joint (TMJ), balance of the whole mouth and bitting. This enables the horse to be more comfortable in not only the mouth, but the jaw and therefore the entire body. In turn this allows the horse to perform better and look better by a higher utilization of feed.
